CMDIS - Invited Lecture - Project Planning and Management

Please join us for an invited lecture on Project Planning and Management by Chris McDermott, Professor, Lally School of Management on May 20th, Wednesday (2:00pm-3:00pm) via Webex. This invited lecture targets junior faculty, post-doctoral students, researchers, visiting scholars, graduate and undergraduate students who are willing to learn the fundamentals of project planning and management process.

Project planning and management has its roots to humanity and dates back in the making of ancient buildings or modern projects of highways, dams, bridges or skyscrapers. It is a discipline consisting of multiple practices and techniques. Traditional project management approach is applicable to many areas, in which the entire process is divided into number of phases, such as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling. For most of the projects in industry, the requirements are well-defined and traditional project planning can be applied. Learning these steps would be not only valuble in academic environment, but also for your future careers.
