cMDIS Supports National MFG Day

The sixth annual National Manufacturing Day was held on October 6th across multiple sites on the Rensselaer campus. This event encourages local high school students, teachers and community manufacturers to share and participate in advanced manufacturing concepts across mutiple industries and research areas. Within cMDIS, high school students and teachers were introduced to cleanroom protocols and microelectronics manufacturing.

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) outreach is vital to the nation’s development of future scientists, engineers and innovators. As such, cMDIS supports multiple campus wide and intra-departmental community outreach activities. These include hands-on activities and demonstrations as well as tours of the cleanroom promoting and expanding STEM experiences for the next generation.
